A New Way to Find Charlotte-Area New Construction Homes
If you have ever searched for a new construction home around Charlotte or Lake Norman, you probably know how quickly the process can become overwhelming.
One builder may have communities in Huntersville and Mooresville. Another may be building in Troutman, Charlotte or Waxhaw. Pricing can be difficult to compare, available floor plans change, incentives come and go, and important information is often spread across dozens of individual builder websites.
I wanted to make that first stage of the search easier.
That is why I created CharlotteAreaNewHomes.com, a new resource designed specifically for buyers researching new construction throughout the Charlotte region.
Start by narrowing the field
The goal of the site is not to overwhelm you with every possible listing. It is to help you identify the communities that may actually fit what you are looking for before you spend an entire weekend driving from model home to model home.
You can browse my curated collection of Charlotte-area new-home communities and narrow the results based on factors such as location, budget, home type, number of bedrooms and certain home or community features.
You can also identify communities offering things such as ranch-style homes, primary bedrooms on the main level, community amenities and 55-plus options.
Once you find several possibilities, the site allows you to compare communities side by side.
See the communities before you visit
One of the features I am most excited about is the connection between the new website and my new-construction video tours.
When I have personally toured a community, you may see a Watch Matt’s Tour option directly on the community information.
That gives you a chance to see more than a builder rendering or a few carefully selected photographs. My goal with these videos is to give buyers a better sense of the homes, floor plans and communities they are considering.
I will continue adding community tours as I visit more new developments around Charlotte and Lake Norman.
A starting point, not a substitute for good buyer representation
Builder websites are useful, and builders understandably want to showcase their homes in the best possible light. But buying new construction involves more than choosing a floor plan.
Buyers may need to compare builder incentives, financing offers, lot premiums, upgrade costs, contract terms and the overall value of one community versus another.
That is where independent buyer representation can become especially important.
I work with new-construction buyers throughout the Charlotte and Lake Norman area and can help evaluate those differences before you make a decision.
You also do not need to wait until you have selected a builder to contact me. In fact, it is often more useful to talk before your first visit so we can narrow the choices and make the most of the time you spend touring communities.

I’ll continue adding communities and video tours as the market changes.
